Designing Spaces for the Next Generation
From small-town campuses to large-scale educational complexes, our recent school projects across Germany explore one core idea: how architecture can shape better environments for learning, growth, and everyday life.
Each project is thoughtfully shaped by its context, balancing local character with contemporary architectural expression. Traditional materials are often reinterpreted through modern forms, creating a dialogue between heritage and innovation.
Some designs focus on integrating larger buildings into their surroundings in a calm and cohesive way, ensuring they complement rather than dominate the existing environment. Others emphasize structure and atmosphere, using clear modular systems, warm material palettes, and carefully considered extensions that enhance what is already there.
Across all projects, courtyards, natural light, and open communal spaces play a key role—supporting both focused learning and informal interaction.
In early education environments, the approach becomes more playful and dynamic, incorporating elements that encourage movement, creativity, and exploration, while still maintaining a strong and consistent architectural identity.
Across all these projects, the goal remains consistent: to create educational spaces that feel intuitive, human, and deeply connected to their environment.
Below we present our visualizations for school projects completed over the past year.
School in Eschershausen
A large-scale school in Eschershausen carefully integrated into a green, low-rise context, designed to sit gently within the landscape rather than dominate it.
The architecture balances scale with sensitivity, blending modern form with its natural surroundings. At its core, a vibrant courtyard creates space for play, interaction, and everyday student life.
KiTas Pforzheim
Minds can be shaped in style and here’s the proof: Today we present our renderings of two modern KiTas (kindergartens) planned in Pforzheim, sharing a similar architectural language, clean, contemporary designs that make generous use of wood and greenery on the facades. A fantastic environment where children can grow, play, and explore, surrounded by thoughtful design and nature.
Schule Lengerich Steinfurt
We really love this school project for its sculpted volumes and seamless integration with the terrain. Simplicity and a uniform façade color emphasize the modernity of the architecture. We prepared one exterior view along with several interior renderings, showcasing spaces such as the teachers’ lounge and the Mensa.
Kreuz - Grundschule
Where learning meets nature. This primary school is designed as a green, open environment that feels alive throughout the day.
Lush courtyards extend the classrooms, giving students space to breathe, play, and reset. The Mensa shifts from everyday dining to a stage for school life, from shared meals to evening events full of energy and community.
Kita Ratingen
A modern kindergarten in Ratingen defined by a bold mix of wood and brick, creating a strong yet welcoming identity. Playful elements like a slide connecting floors bring movement and joy into everyday use. Inside, flexible spaces support creativity, learning, and exploration in a natural way.
Rotationsschule Frechen
A large-scale school in Frechen defined by contrast and clarity, with a light wood façade wrapping the four-story main volume. The Mensa breaks the rhythm as a dark, grounded element, creating a strong architectural focal point. From learning clusters to the Mediathek, the interiors reflect a contemporary, flexible approach to education spaces.
Kita Gemünden
A warm, low-rise kindergarten designed around openness, greenery, and everyday movement. The playground becomes the heart of the project, with natural materials and soft forms encouraging exploration, balance, and social interaction. Wooden façades and human-scale architecture create a calm, safe environment where children can play, learn, and feel at ease.
Katholische Grundschule Kaarst
A welcoming primary school designed with clarity, balance, and a strong connection to its surroundings. Our visualizations capture both the overall form and the everyday atmosphere, from exterior views to interior spaces and a bird’s-eye perspective. A thoughtful educational environment where architecture supports focus, movement, and community.
Primary School Chemnitz
A softer take on school architecture, inspired by the way children see the world. Pastel tones, gentle light, and a slightly storybook atmosphere replace strict photorealism to create a warm, cozy mood.
A visualization approach that focuses more on feeling than precision.
Schools in Bielefeld
Three schools, three contexts, one clear idea: create calm, contemporary spaces that feel natural within their surroundings. From brick to light timber façades, each building responds differently while maintaining a cohesive architectural language. Our visuals focus on everyday school life, capturing entrances, courtyards, and shared spaces designed for movement, interaction, and community.
School Extension Himmelpforten
A calm, well-balanced extension that blends naturally with its surroundings while introducing a clear, contemporary identity.Clean lines, soft materials, and generous glazing create bright, open spaces that support everyday school life. From welcoming interiors to open outdoor areas, the design focuses on clarity, function, and a relaxed atmosphere.
Realschule Zollverein Essen
A bold, compact school defined by strong volumes and expressive façades that give each building its own identity. From light, structured surfaces to deep green and dark tones, the materials create contrast while staying cohesive within the site. The architecture feels solid and grounded, designed to support everyday school life with clarity and confidence.
School Extension Overath
The design introduces a new building on the adjacent site, elegantly referencing the existing structure. The architects reused the same materials on the façade – corrugated metal panels between floors and metal sheets across the stories – creating a seamless visual connection. We also prepared three interior renderings, including, for the first time, a rendering of a physics classroom.
Gymnasium Werden Essen
Two school concepts, each defined by a clear, minimalist language and strong geometric composition. Subtle façades with rhythmic window patterns and perforated elements create identity without unnecessary complexity.
Set within greenery, the buildings feel calm and grounded, offering a balanced environment for everyday school life.
School Ratingen
A strong, confident presence shaped by a rich red brick façade that immediately defines the identity of the building.Clean geometry and rhythmic windows create a bold yet refined look that feels both modern and timeless.
Set within a calm green context, the school becomes a place that feels grounded, inviting, and built to last.
