In may 2019 we were asked to help with designing and prepare one rendering of a hotel lobby. The goal was clear: We need to win the architectural competition. Well… we don’t deny our clients.

After the call with MIXD CEO, Piotr Kalinowski, in the first days of may 2019, we decided to meet and plan together the shape of the entrance zone – lobby, bar and reception – of a hotel in Kraków, Poland.
The project’s intention was to be elegant, but full of colors at the same time – with soft, round forms and soft materials. We decided also on the rendering mood, that was about to play a great role; we wanted to show the interior during night time, when it’s dark, with strong, contrasted light spots coming down from the ceiling.
It was around a month later, when the winner was announced. WE DID IT!
After that time, we were asked to prepare renderings of next stages of the project. As you can see, the interior has evolved a bit, we also switched from nighttime to daytime, as it was more important to present textures and materials in a better way. The “competition feeling” was no longer the main goal, now it was time for the best possible representation of reality.
